Bit Pit - National Coal Museum:
A unique, world-famous underground tour of a real coal mine, that takes you 300ft underground with a real miner and see what life was like for the thousands of men who worked at the coal face. Children under five cannot go underground. Opening times: 9.30am - 5pm March to October. Telephone for opening times between November and February.

This "most visited garden in Wales" offers a great day out for all the family; the Roots and Shrubs Adventure Zone, the land train and many other attractions and events keep children entertained too. Open all year round: 10 am - 4pm, but open until 6pm in April to September.

Enjoy a walk past the fast-flowing spectacular rivers and through the enchanting oak and alder woodland of the Dinas nature trail. With Red Kites and Grey Wagtails aplenty, allow two hours to complete. You may also be interested to know that this same centre is also the home of the Twm-sion-Catti cave and Welsh Robin Hood.
